Waste Reductions

11 SUSTAINABLE CITIES AND COMMUNITIES
12 RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION, PRODUCTION

We’re committed to reducing waste volumes by avoiding use of unnecessary resources and resource waste in production processes.
We’re also promoting reusing and recycling by making effective use of waste as resources to achieve zero emissions (final disposal ratio of 0.2% or less).

Zero Emissions from Waste

  • At domestic offices, we’ve taken various actions since 2000 with the goal of achieving zero emissions from waste (not more than 0.2%). In fiscal year 2020, we continued reusing plastics, useful metals contained in sludge as valuables, and pallets, resulting in a final disposal ratio* of 0.1%. From fiscal year 2021 and beyond, we will strive to maintain this ratio at 0.1%.

Reduction of Waste Volumes

  • Reduction of Emissions/Production (Domestic Offices)

At offices in Japan, we’re committed to reducing emissions (excluding the directly recycled amount)/production and striving to achieve 4% reductions from fiscal year 2016 by fiscal year 2030.
In fiscal year 2020, we achieved 25% reductions from fiscal year 2016.
In and after fiscal year 2021, we plan to reduce emissions to achieve the target.

Promotion of Battery Recycling

As a member of the Japan Portable Rechargeable Battery Recycling Center (JBRC), the Koki Holdings Group has set up collection bases at Koki power tool centers throughout Japan.
We’re actively collecting and recycling used batteries by distributing and displaying our unique posters at dealers across Japan.
